Access

Who can access The Africa Institute Library?

The Africa Institute Library is open to the greater community of Sharjah Emirate and of United Arab Emirates. To get access you must have one of the following:

  • An active Africa Institute card.
  • An active card of The Africa Institute Library.
  • A visitor ID badge from the visitor registration kiosk.

Visitors: Access and loan

All visitors are welcome to visit the Africa Institute Library during the week. Prior to using the library, visitors must register by presenting a valid government ID.

Please note: The Africa Institute reserves the right to deny access to any individual. Disruptive or inappropriate behavior may lead to the suspension of visitor access and borrowing privileges.

Wireless access

Wireless Internet access is available for visitors across the campus and within the library. Wifi does not include access to licenced library online content and databases.

Access to electronic resources for visitors

Licensed electronic resources are accessible from designated computers within the library. However, certain resources are restricted to Africa Institute faculty, staff, and students. If you require access to these online resources, please consult library staff for assistance.
