Khadim Cheikhouna Mbacke is a Master of Arts student in Global African Studies at The Africa Institute, Global Studies University, specializing in Museum and Critical Heritage Studies. Born in Senegal, he investigates African Islamic heritage and Sufi material culture, examining how colonial archival practices have shaped contemporary representation. Drawing on a background in Islamic Studies, art, and education, Khadim seeks to develop community-centered, decolonial approaches to heritage preservation that bridge rigorous research with practical cultural advocacy. His work aims to engage deeply with material culture, memory, and ethical curation, advancing scholarly and professional practices that honor the depth and dignity of African Islamic traditions.
