Global Studies University participated in Creative Careers Days 2026, Art as a Voice: How Do You Use It?, held at the Jameel Arts Centre from February 7–9, 2026. The three-day event brought together universities, cultural institutions, and creative practitioners to examine the role of artistic practice in expression, dialogue, and public engagement.

The Africa Institute, the first of GSU’s semi-independent institutes, presented its postgraduate programs, language certifications, residential and non-residential fellowships, and community initiatives. Visitors had the opportunity to engage in portfolio reviews conducted by award-winning filmmaker and artist Sofia El Khyari, former Tejumola Olaniyan Creative Writers-in-Residence Fellow.

The program included public sessions with talks, workshops, and professional development opportunities on February 7 and 8, followed by group visits from schools and universities on February 9, which focused on academic pathways, application support, and career development in the arts, humanities, and social sciences.
