Aliyu Lawal, Lecturer of Hausa at The Africa Institute, performed a poetry reading alongside Dr. Hanin Omar on November 10, 2025, as part of the Poetry Corner program at the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), Expo Centre Sharjah.
Lawal, who has participated in previous editions of the Sharjah International Book Fair as well as several poetry festivals and competitions, brought a reflective and expressive voice to the stage, bridging African and Arabic poetic traditions.
