Under the decree, The Africa Institute, an interdisciplinary academic research think-tank dedicated to the study, research, and documentation of Africa and the African diaspora, will operate under the umbrella of Global Studies University. This decree will amplify the institute’s global reach and impact.
The decree stipulated that the Global Studies University would be headed by Her Excellency Sheikha Hoor Bint Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi who is currently the President of The Africa Institute, Sharjah.
According to the decree, Global Studies University will comprise the following colleges and specialized academic institutes: The Africa Institute, The Asia Institute, and The Europe Institute.
This network currently includes The Africa Institute, established in 2018, and the forthcoming Asia Institute. Additional institutes focusing on other regions—including the Americas, Europe, and Oceania—are planned for future development.
