Zaynab El Bernoussi, Interim Chair of the Department of Humanities and Associate Professor of Political Science at Global Studies University, recently participated in the Second Edition of the Azerbaijan Halal Business (AZHAB) Forum, held on October 7–8 in Baku.
The Forum, organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (KOBİA) with support from the Ministry of Economy, focused on “Halal Industry as a Source of Resilience in a Rapidly Changing World.” It brought together international experts, academics, entrepreneurs, and government representatives to discuss investment, trade, and emerging directions in the halal industry.
At the Forum, El Bernoussi spoke on halal ethics and certification as part of the panel “Halal Business Management: Harmony of Success or Success of Harmony,” joining distinguished speakers in exploring key topics including halal business management, the green transition, and the role of women in business.
El Bernoussi also presented her latest book, International Political Economy and the Global South: Perspectives from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East, co-authored with Adriana María Garriga-López, Giuliano Martiniello, and Bashir Saade, at the SCALES program at University Mohamed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) in Rabat.
Her participation in these international forums and academic initiatives highlights her ongoing engagement with global scholarship on governance, ethics, and business practices.
